HIKING IN THE RAVENNA GORGE
Mighty, awe-inspiring and at the same time protective, the Ravenna Gorge lies at the back of the Hofgut Sternen. The Ravenna bridge, a 36 metre high viaduct on which the Höllental railway rushes past, towers majestically above it. At its feet, the wild Ravenna stream carves its way through the gorge, plunging into the depths where it stops.
Hiking in the Ravenna Gorge is a must on a Black Forest holiday. The local trail leads right through this quaint part of the Black Forest, past cascades and waterfalls, old saws, mills and even a rope-making workshop. In winter, the Ravenna Bridge serves as the backdrop for the Christmas market and adds a little more magic to the most magical time of the year.
